Find Your Cruise
I like Cunard because of the glamour and feeling of nostalgia, and Celebrity because of the quality of food and service. Staff-customer ratio is 2 staff to each customer there I think.
Without doubt Celebrity.while I have only been on one ship with more than 5star rating ,this was the best, nearly all are good some to a lesser degree than others I have cruised many times and I feel that for a little extra you get the best from the afore mentioned line.
My fav.without question is Celebrity....great food, great friendly staff, wide variety of entertainment, wee extras we have never had on other cruise lines make them No 1.
Celebrity. ice-cold cloth face cloths handed to you (by tongs!) when you are about to step onboard after a hot Caribbean day; waiters carrying your tray to a table in the buffet restaurant. Elegant-looking ships without US-style glitz. American travel mag Conde Nast vote the Millennium-class ships as the top 4.
Fred olson they are very good all round, food very good,
shows very good, service very good, staff very good,
the brama is is not to large a ship, we enjoyed our cruise on,we did not find any faults,we where on a world cruise on the black wacth,we had to get off at egypt,my
wife had pneumonia ,the ships hospital doctor and staff
looked after her to a high standard.(but make sure you have good insurance as it was expensive.enjoy your cruise
as we will when we book again with fred olson. j.g.
My favourite so far CELEBRITY,fantastic ships, staff, food, they just seem to get it right. I also really like Princess, cruised with them for years, was supposed to cruise with them again in December, but engine problems meant we were offered an alternative holiday with Royal Caribbean, this was on the new Freedom of the Seas....this really brought home just how superior Celebrity were, can't wait to get back, will be with thm in January on the Summit for Panama Canal.
(By the way an single female late 40`s, usually travel with similar friends) a good mix of ages etc.
Yes, somewhat expensive. But, they have an overall excellent ambiance, most-decidedly superior quality and presentation of food, very attentive service in the cabin, in the restaurant and at the Information Desk.
The Palm Court is where Afternoon Tea is served with panache and on one afternoon during the cruise they offer a Mozart Tea when each of the serving staff and each musician is dressed in 18th century vestment. Also, on occasion, in the evening, classical piano recitals are offered in this Court.
While all ships have a formal dining venue and an informal lido, CRYSTAL ships also have "The Bistro." What a charming place to meet new friends, have some food from a small but happy array of items, do some reading and be served specialty coffees.
By the way, there is no charge for specialty coffees, soft drinks or bottled water. In fact, every time you disembark the ship to go visiting a port, they almost thrust bottled water onto you for your later refreshment!
Yes, they have a Cinema... with pop-corm and soda.
The cocierge is exactly that. He is willing to search the web to have detailed answers to your questions.
What more can I say? Have been on the HARMONY ten times (the owners have since relocated her elsewhere under another name)and on the SYMPHONY twice. Am booked on the SYMPHONY for the Nov 24, 2007 cruise. No, I have not been on the SERENITY: it is even more pricey!!
Just as a perspective: I just finished my seventy-nineth (79th) cruise. Have enjoyed CUNARD, RCI, PRINCESS, NCL, etc. But the best is CRYSTAL. True, I have not tried the YACHTS of SEABOURNE, SILVERSEA, or the SEADREAM YACHTS, but they would destroy my budget!!
No, I am not connected with the CRYSTAL CRUISE LINE. Just a happy camper . . .

Royal Caribbean's Enchantment of the Seas has to be my all time favorite. It has everything for everyone and the crew (and captain) are fantastic. You can join in the fun on board or just chill and relax. Bliss.....
P & O are superb, quality but affordable. Extremely high standards and what everyone should be aware of - hygiene !! If you don't get stopped every time you approach a restaurant/cafe/LIBRARY etc, with hand-gel then they are not bothered. Think about it - if a bug takes hold on a ship, then the whole holiday goes down - FOR EVERYONE!!!
Celebrity, yeah, OK but haven't cruised on it, Royal Caribbean, have heard it is a bit 'down-market'!! Steve & Wendy Foster.
Yes, if you book a balcony you certainly won't feel claustrophobic. There is lots of room but this is on the Norwegian Pearl (NCL) as this is the only ship I have been on. However, hearing comments from other people who have done a lot of cruises on lots of different cruise liners NCL is one of the best.
