Between September and March i.e. winter most ships are heading off to warmer climates, but something you may wish to explore is not so much a cruise as such but there is a ferry which takes about 2 nights that goes betwween the North off Scotland possibly from Aberdeeen to the Orkney and Shetland Isles and I believe you can see 'The northern Lights" . Had a friend who did this and thoroughly enjoyed it. You can also cross from Aberdeen to Norway but it is a summer only crossing. Don't quite know the dates but if you contact Aberdeen Tourist Board's website I am sure you will find some information there. Best of Luc.
