Did it recently and will be on QM2 again 12 July. Very efficient US immigration. We came through immigration, collected our bags and picked up a taxi outside terminal and were in Manhattan within 35 minutes of crossing the gngway. Plenty of taxis were available and the charge to Manhattan, Central Park, was $35 including a tip. Go for it. Richard Okill, Lee on the Solen.
We sailed on QM2 last may arriving in the new Brooklyn terminal. We were in princess accommodation and luckily were called quite early to disembark. It was a bit of a scramble to locate and collect our luggage in the immigration hall and no one was forming orderly queues. There were no staff directing anyone and I thought it was going to be a long wait. However, immigration staff arrived ( I assume they were late for work) and took charge. Most of the people in our queue were Americans returning home and they were in the wrong line. As soon as everyone was sorted out the line moved quickly and, even allowing for the delay at first, we were through immigration within half an hour of leaving the ship. We disembarked at 8.20 and we arrived at La Guardia for a connecting flight at 9.15. Perhaps we were just lucky. We had no trouble getting a cab, there were plenty waiting outside, although I had been concerned about that aspect myself.
I'm sure you will have a fabulous time on your cruise. We are QM2 fans now and have booked on a Caribbean cruise with the ship next january. I can hardly wait. Have a good trip.
Thanks a lot for the info.
