I was on the Oceana 2 years ago and it was smart casual and formal. There were 4 formal nights and the rest were smart casual. My group who I usually travel with enjoy the dressing up so even on the smart causal nights we always wore nice evening wear.
Same as all p.o ships. on a weeks cruise two formal nights' black tie, some wear lounge suits, but most wear dinner jackets. its all part of the fun dressing up, something you dont normally do.dont bother buying new there are plenty of bargains on e bay or your local charity shop.two informal nights, jacket tie. three casual, smart casual shirt and slacks. woman obviously dress accordingl.
We were on the oceana last year and as other says smart casual formal but it is lovley to cress up have a great time k burton newar.
There are THREE different types of dress for evening dinner. 1. Formal, when you must have a suit or tuxedo, and a tie. 2. Smart casual, when a blazar or jacket is required, and a tie. 3. Casual, when no tie or jacket is required, only a pair of long trousers and a smart shirt.
Of course you can always use the buffet restaurant, when only casual attire is required - but if you go here you miss the fabulous lobster, Fillet steak dinners that they serve in the main restaurant!
Best wishes C.T.
We went on the Oceana in May and the dress code was day time casual night time smart dress and formal nights.

On oceana in caribbean feb 2007 always dress up one night black and white omly .you will feel left out if not dresses for dinner superb photos.
Very casual. Some still dress in long dresses and evening suits, but most wear summer dresses or trousers. Men tend to wear normal suits or jacket and trousers. We because we have evening wear bought for the Oriana still tend to wear our formal clothes on dressing up night.
Common sense is required really, but black tie on 4 nights if you want to participate but you don`t have to.You can dine in the self serve restaraunts if you like but you may feel left out if you don`t as everyone else does it and it`s all part of the fun. DO IT!
